It takes 2.5 to 3 hours to visit to tour the citadel and the 2 museums. The wealth of audio and written explanations allows a perfect understanding of what the creation of sea rescue and the East India Company was. I learned that Lorient dates from this period, for example. Not to miss

Typical seaside citadel but very impressive because its feet in the water... rampart, fort, bastion, beautiful defense architecture of the harbor of Lorient... in addition, the very informative museums... to do if passing through in the corner ...

No waiting in this bordering desert month of May on the citadel! Very beautiful view from both sides, the museums are really worth the visit! Small adjoining beach with its period cabins. We highly recommend.

You must come and visit the maritime museum, in this place, the Citadel of Port Louis, because you can see various paintings representing the trade of slave ships, traveling the oceans in the last century.

To visit without hesitation! We visited as a family with the stroller and it was no problem. The museum is super interesting and the visit to the walls and the views are just incredible. The welcome is incredible both from the staff and the security team. People under 26 benefit from free admission. Of course even if I took a lot of photos.... This is only a small part of everything you will see and discover. Don’t hesitate to take the audio guide. Good visit. And thanks again to all the teams!
